Former Spirit Airlines exec joins rival Frontier
Aviation industry veteran Barry L. Biffle has been appointed president of Frontier Airlines, effective from July 16.
Biffle brings over 20 years’ experience in airline senior management and will report to Frontier CEO David Siegel.
"Barry is an industry innovator in the ultra-low cost space who, importantly, also recognizes the unique opportunity we have to create the first customer friendly and customer focused ultra-low cost airline in the United States," said Siegel.
Biffle previously served as executive vice president of Spirit Airlines after starting his aviation career with management positions at US Airways.
He was most recently CEO of VivaColombia, the first low cost carrier operating in South America.
Denver-based Frontier Airlines is in its 20th year of operation and offers ultra-low fares to over 75 destinations in the US, Mexico, and the Caribbean.
