Former Thomas Cook sales chief joins bed bank
Former Thomas Cook sales chief Tony Quinn has joined bed bank Getabed.co.uk as commercial director.
Quinn left Thomas Cook in 2000 after 22 years with the retailer, during which time he held a number of roles including senior sales positions and development roles.
In 2002 he set up retail agency Avista Travel, which has since broadened into a number of niche consumer brands including Bridesandbeaches.com and holidays2mauritius.co.uk.
Quinn said:: “Avista Travel is now well-established and in the capable hands of a strong management team for its day-to-day running, so I started to look for my next challenge.
“I’m really looking forward to this next phase in my travel career. Getabed.co.uk is a dynamic and fast-growing business and I’m really looking forward to working with Matt and the rest of the guys to position the business firmly as the trade’s favourite accommodation provider.”
Getabed managing director Matt Stuart added: “We are delighted to have Tony onboard. His broad experience across the UK travel industry will be an invaluable asset to the Getabed.co.uk team.
“We have lots of plans in place to grow our business and to work with even more travel agents across the UK as we head into our 21st year of trading.”
