Former TUI director appointed MD of cruise excursion company

Cruise excursion company Cruisingexcursions.com has appointed industry stalwart Damien Mooney as managing director.

Mooney previously spent 10 years as CEO of Irish tour operator Falcon/JWT Holidays, sitting on the Board of parent company TUI UK & Ireland.

He has recently concentrated on small business turnarounds in consultancy and interim management roles.

Reporting to chairman John Wimbleton and working with the management team including COO Simonne Fairbanks, Mooney will be based at the company’s Cannock HQ.

The company has been without an MD since last August, following the resignation of Simon Purchase and the appointment of Wimbleton as chairman.

Wimbleton said: "Cruisingexcursions.com has experienced very rapid growth, going from a small start up to a multi million pound turnover in less than four years.

"Having worked with Damien previously I know that he is a likeminded business leader with strong experience in delivering financial performance and strategic direction and is the right person to take the company to the next level."
