Former Wendy Wu MD launches LGBT operator
Former Wendy Wu Tours managing director Laurence Hicks has officially launched an LGBT specialist tour operation, Inclusive Retreats.
It offers both long and short-haul packages to both beach resorts and popular cities around the world.
It is licensed to carry 500 passengers a year under the ATOL held by parent company Tonic Travel Group, previously known as Beachball Holidays, which has been trading since 2004.
Hicks said Inclusive Retreats ‘is specifically dedicated to bringing together as many LGBT-owned, friendly and inclusive properties from around the world in one place, as well as easily identifying local attitudes to those who identify as LGBT’.
He said he had been inspired to launch an LGBT operator by his professional and personal experiences of travelling as a gay man.
"I struggled to find a website that I could rely upon to locate the kind of holiday I was seeking together with the appropriate local advice, hence the inspiration for creating Inclusive Retreats," he said,
The site does not yet offer an online booking facility.
