Former X-tant md joins Comtec
Comtec Europe has appointed Daman Singh, former managing director of NTL-subsidiary X-TANT, as group director, corporate development and finance.
The appointment is designed to build Comtec’s growth through the delivery of one-stop sales and services solutions for travel agents in the UK and Europe. According to Comtec, Singh will drive the company’s expansion through a series of partnerships with leading principals and technology suppliers in the travel industry, together with e-commerce developers from other sectors. Singh will also be responsible for corporate merger and acquisition activity and finance at the Cwmbran-based company.
Singh has arrived following the rebranding as Comtec of the group’s subsidiary Leisure Network Solutions (LNS), the agency software provider. Comtec’s product portfolio now includes EasySell, the multi-operator search solution, and TravelCat, the agency management system. Customers include First Choice-subsidiary Travel Choice, Thomas Cook Direct, TV Travel Shop, West Midlands Co-op, Dawson & Sanderson and Galaxy Travel.
Before joining Comtec, Singh was managing director of X-TANT, the travel division of NTL, where he steered the company to its most profitable period, culminating in a multi-million pound deal with the Thomson Travel Group, part of the travel giant’s £100m e-commerce investment. In addition, Singh was responsible for the development and launch of Traveleye, the integrated selling system for independent agents.
