Rezidor Hotel Group plans a fourth hotel in Edinburgh.

The 171-room Park Inn is due to open in the city centre in the third quarter of 2010.

Rezidor already operates a Radisson SAS on the Royal Mile and is due to open a Park Inn at Edinburgh airport and a Hotel MISSONI next year.

The mid-market Park Inn Edinburgh will be built on a 2,250 square metre site on Leith Walk in the historic-conservation area of the city.

The hotel will offer a restaurant, a lobby bar & lounge, conference facilities and a fitness room.

The first Park Inn in Scotland opened last year in Glasgow city centre and further properties are being developed in Aberdeen, East Kilbride, Edinburgh airport and a second hotel in Glasgow.

Elsewhere in the UK, there are 17 Park Inn hotels in operation with nine others under development due to open in 2009/10.

Kurt Ritter, president & CEO of Rezidor, said: “Our portfolio in the UK now features 30 hotels in operation and a further 19 under development. We are close to a great milestone of 50 properties.”
