Fran Bailey finds two missing votes
An ABC report says that the Australian Electoral Commission has found another two votes in favour of the former Tourism Minister, Fran Bailey, in the Federal seat of McEwen.Ms Bailey was beaten in McEwen by just seven votes by Labor’s Rob Mitchell.
However, Ms Bailey says with the margin now down to five, she’s applied for a recount, saying the AEC could hardly refuse given the extraordinary circumstances.
“Missing ballot papers, to lack of security of ballot papers, to ballot papers being accepted that were not official ballots, look there are just far too many questions about this whole process,” she said
“This morning’s announcement is just another example of the inconsistencies.”
