France largest B2B travel show, IFTM Top Resa, is back for its 2025 edition
The 2025 edition of IFTM Top Resa, France’s premier trade show for global tourism professionals, opened its doors on September 23 measuring during three days the state of the French travel industry.
This year’s Destination of Honour is the Dominican Republic, is highlighted across all show communications. The Caribbean nation showcases more than its famed beaches, presenting cultural, nature, sports and luxury experiences along with a strong gastronomic presence. Dominican Rep. Minister of Tourism David Collado Morales spoke late in the morning at both the opening conference and the International Panorama session. He delivered a speech expressing his faith in optimistic, innovative and responsible tourism.
IFTM show director Laurence Gaborieau says this year’s theme, “Join forces!”, moves beyond past editions’ reflective tone to spur bold, collective action. The goal: to turn the sector’s challenges into sustainable opportunities by encouraging co-construction and shared intelligence.
The show is home to 12 villages. They reflect everything that makes up the travel and tourism sector. First of all, one can find the geographical and thematic villages, like Destination France, a true summary of what France has to offer. A village especially important this year because of the pandemic context.
More thematic, the Village de la Montagne, integrated with Destination France; or the Village des Croisières – maritime or river. Village des Autocaristes (bus transport); Village des Tour-Opérateurs; and Village des Réseaux de Distribution (distribution networks)
The “Join Forces” movement translates into new conference formats designed for dialogue and problem-solving. “Beehive” workshops in the Attractiveness Village, Business Club and Sustainable Initiatives Village invite visitors to brainstorm solutions. A fresh “Stand Up for the Planet” stage hosts rapid-fire pitches—successful or not—to spark frank discussions. Destination France runs joint workshops for inbound agencies, tourism committees and travel agents to refine ways to market France to domestic and international travelers.
Technology also takes center stage. Artificial intelligence, already used behind the scenes to match exhibitors and visitors, returns to the Tech Zone with another AI tour after drawing 600 participants in 2024. The Africa Convention, launched in 2023, explores how AI is reshaping tourism on the continent and how cultural assets can help African destinations attract millions more visitors. the Sustainable Initiatives Village hosts collective intelligence workshops.
Gaborieau aims to match or surpass pre-pandemic attendance, noting pre-registrations were sharply higher and exhibitor numbers have grown with around 20 new destinations, including Namibia, Oman, Cape Verde, Saudi Arabia, Benin, Zanzibar, the Philippines, St. Pierre & Miquelon, and France’s Vendée and Aveyron regions.
In total, IFTM Top Resa welcomes this year over 1,500 brands spread across some 450 booths. And expects to beat its 2024 record of 31,900 visitors.
