Francis Riley leaves NCL
Norwegian Cruise Line’s senior vice-president of international sales, marketing and operations Francis Riley has suddenly left the business following a restructure of its international management team.
The cruise line announced this morning that it was splitting its European, Middle East and Africa region into two, with each responsible for its own sales and marketing.
As part of the restructure, Nick Wilkinson was promoted from UK general manager to vice president and managing director UK, Ireland, Middle East and Africa.
Christian Boell will continue as vice president and managing director Europe including all markets within Continental Europe and Scandinavia.
Riley is understood to have left the cruise line on Thursday. A spokesman confirmed his departure was linked to the restructure. They added: "We thank Francis for his valued, extensive and long-standing contribution and wish him all the best in his future endeavours."
Riley first joined NCL in 2005 as general manager for the UK, gradually rising through the ranks – with a brief gap from 2008 to 2010 – to become a senior VP based in Miami.
