From the Regent Street Festival to a touch of Manhattan in London
In September, London rolls out a whole slew of things to do and places to go.
On September 7, 2008, Regent Street will be closed to traffic from 12 noon to 8pm welcoming people with an expected footfall of over 600,000 to the Regent Street Festival: A Great British Experience.
British boy band, AVENUE, who found fame on TV’s Ex Factor will kick things off by opening the festival at 12 noon, singing a selection of songs including their new single “Last Goodbye†which will go on sale the following day.
The Factory Theatre will be performing a full production of Hamlet live on Regent Street whilst the Royal Academy of Music is bringing a selection of musicians including string and brass ensembles and singers.
There will be British food stalls and traditional food quarters serving fish n chips and even British curry. A veteran car display, taxi exhibit and urban picnic area will appear on Regent Street on the day.
Regent Street boasts a collection of international retailers with no less than 31 flagship stores, many of whom will be participating by offering an assortment of ‘British’ themed in-store activities, promotions and added value incentives. Regent Street retailers and restaurants will be offering a celebratory 10% festival offer throughout the day.

A new brasserie, Broome & Delancey is bringing a touch of Manhattan to London with its open plan kitchen, champagne bar, and al fresco terrace. There are 2 dining spaces, serving some of America’s favourite dishes, alongside classic European cuisine.
