Frontier Airlines appoints new chief operating officer
Frontier Airlines has selected industry veteran Bill Meehan as the carrier’s new chief operating officer.
In this role Meehan will oversee inflight and airport operations, safety and security for Frontier.
He brings almost 30 years of industry experience, and most recently held the position of CEO of PEMCO World Air Services, an aircraft maintenance and engineering services firm.
Meehan worked in several senior positions at Continental Airlines over 27-year stint including senior vice president of airport services and COO of Continental Micronesia.
"Bill is a proven leader and veteran operations executive with the right focus on balancing costs and the customer experience," said Frontier CEO David Siegel.
"Having worked with Bill for many years, I know first-hand that he recognizes and appreciates the unique employee group and product we have at Frontier and is exactly the right person to help us transition to a differentiated, ultra-low cost carrier."
According to Frontier chairman Bill Franke, Meehan’s appointment will help bring improved customer service, airline reliability, and safety initiatives.
Denver based Frontier employs almost 4,000 staff and flies to more than 75 destinations in the US, Mexico and the Caribbean.
