Frontier’s new flights make it fastest-growing major US airline
Frontier airlines announced new service to five destinations as prelude to a “significant period of growth.”
"This is the beginning of a tremendous period of growth for Frontier Airlines," said VP of Planning and Strategy, Daniel Shurz, adding:
"With Midwest and Frontier Airlines operating as one carrier, under the Frontier name, our customers can now enjoy even more destinations at an affordable price. The launch of these five new routes is part of a 17-market expansion taking place this spring and summer."
The Denver-based carrier grew by seven percent in seat miles this year, making it the fastest-growing major airline in the US, according to the airline.
Service from Denver International Airport to Louisville International Airport and Green Bay’s Austin-Straubel International Airport began earlier this month, and service to Branson Airport begins this week.
Additionally, seasonal service from Milwaukee’s General Mitchell International Airport to San Francisco International Airport and San Diego International Airport has also started.
“Additional frequencies are also being added in key markets,” according to a press release which said that Frontier will operate a third-daily nonstop flight between Denver and New York, providing the earliest arrival in New York on any airline.
Earlier this month, Republic Airways Holdings, Inc. announced that Frontier Airlines would be the face of its branded operation, combining Frontier and Midwest Airlines into one carrier.
Although all flights can now be purchased at FrontierAirlines.com, Frontier and Midwest will continue to integrate technology over the next six to nine months and during this time period customers are reminded to continue checking in with the operating airline for their flight, said airline officials.
