Frostbite Footrace has cold audience
Thousands of heavily-clothed spectators in 10 degree F weather watched as runners competed in the annual Frostbite Footrace with competitors dressed as pink flamingos, kittens, bears and pink poodles.
There was even some rock band Kiss look-alikes for the Anchorage, Alaska contest. They were competitors in the costume category.
“Some entrants were in it with serious competition in mind, others for the T-shirt and fun of it, the Anchorage Daily News reported,” said wire services.
The first-place single costume prize went to an Anchorage woman costumed as "Frosty Cupcake Girl."
