Funway appoints new MD
Long-haul specialist Funway Holidays has appointed Stephen Rhodes as managing director.
Rhodes was previously MD of Cadogan Holidays, Avro, Citalia, Travel2 and divisional head of British Airways Holidays.
He replaces Kyle Haughton. A spokesman for Funway said he did not know where Haughton had moved to.
An internal review at the end of last year saw the departure of Funway Holidays sales director Gerry Boyle.
At that time, Haughton said 2010 had been a tough year for tour operators and that Funway wanted "to ensure we were in the best possible shape to take on the challenges of 2011 and beyond".
Taking up the helm, Rhodes said: “I am looking forward to taking this well established tour operator into its next stage of evolution.
"Tour operating is a highly competitive market but with the strengths inherent in the Funway brand and the well established relationship that the brand has with the trade, I am highly confident that Funway will continue its success as one of the leading long-haul specialists and the tour operator of choice to USA, Canada and the Caribbean.”
