Future of A380 is under threat
Airbus has warned it will have to stop making its A380 superjumbo if it doesn’t get any more orders.
The aircraft manufacturer is hoping for $15 billion order from one of its key customers, Emirates, but the airline has not yet sealed the deal.
It was expected to place an order for 26 A380s in November.
Airbus has warned it will have to halt the programme if Emirates doesn’t go ahead, but said it was hopeful of a deal.
Emirates Airline president Sir Tim Clark told the BBC: "We remain optimistic that a deal can be concluded."
There have been a total of 317 orders for the A380 since its launch in 2007.
