Galeotos to leave Cendant
Cendant has announced that its Travel Distribution Services (TDS) chief Sam Galeotos is to “step down”.
Mr Galeotos was president and chief executive of the division which includes Galileo, Cheap Tickets, Cendant Travel and Lodging.com. A former Worldspan co-chief executive, he was most recently president of Cheap Tickets and joined Cendant when the company was taken over in October 2001.
Cendant said he was leaving his post due to the completion of the integration of the TDS division but would continue to act on an advisory basis for a transitional period.
TDS chairman Sam Katz will now take on the day-to-day management responsibilities for the 10 TDS brands.
Mr Katz commented: “Under Sam’s direction, the TDS organization has strengthened its business model, increased its customer focus and is well poised strategically for the future.”
Meanwhile Tom Christopoul has been promoted from his former post of chief administrative officer. He will now take over as chairman and chief executive of the company’s financial services division reporting to Mr. Katz.
