Gallipoli to the Somme
Australian military traditions that stretch from the beaches at Anzac Cove to the battlefields of the Somme can be explored throughout 2008 with tours offered by Albatross Travel Group.
Gallipoli can be experienced with one of five different Anzac tours all timed to coincide with the April 25 memorial service and ranging from five to 14 days.
The five day Essential Anzac tour departs Istanbul and spends three days at Gallipoli, the eight day Anzac Special Tour spends four days in Istanbul and four days at Gallipoli and the nine day Anzac In-Depth tour has five nights in Gallipoli.
The Anzac and Ancient Civilisations tour has four days in Gallipoli and also visits Kusadasi while the Anzac and Wonders of Turkey visits Bursa, Ankara, Cappadocia, Pamukkale, Kusadsi and Gallipoli.
The cost of Anzac tours which all begin and conclude in Istanbul range from $899 to $2549.

The World War I battlefields of the Western Front are explored by the 14 day Chateaux, Boulevards and Battlefields tour. This begins and ends in Paris and visits Ypres and Amiens as well as medieval cities such as Bruges.
The Word War II landing beaches of Normandy are visited from Caen followed by two days touring through the Loire Valley and a night in Paris.
Cost is $3889 with departures on July 1, August 5 and September 2 all guaranteed.
Cost includes accommodation, most meals, tips, porterage, entrance fees and the services of war historians.
