Garuda better than SIA, Emirates, says research firm
Garuda Indonesia’s recognition as best international airline for January 2012 in a customer satisfaction survey conducted by research company Roy Morgan, has raised a few eyebrows.
The survey ranked Garuda Indonesia ahead of other leading airlines such as Singapore Airlines, Emirates and Air New Zealand with a monthly satisfaction score of 91%.
Virgin Australia was ranked the best domestic international carrier for January 2012 by Roy Morgan, while Qantas was named best domestic airline overall for 2011.
Air New Zealand was named best international airline in 2011.
In a media statement, Garuda Indonesia said a total of 3943 respondents were surveyed on how satisfied they were with the airline they used between February 2011 and January 2012.
TravelMole has sought clarification from Roy Morgan on how its research was carried out.
Garuda said the award recognised the success of its Qantum Leap programme that includes the revitalisation of its existing fleet and the introduction of a new service concept.
