Garuda heads for Tokyo
Garuda Indonesia will launch new direct daily flights from Jakarta to Tokyo, starting August 31.
“The new direct flights are part of our route expansion and a response to the growing demands, mostly from businessmen,” Garuda spokesman Pujobroto told Antara news agency.
The Jakarta-Tokyo flight departs from Jakarta at 11.50 pm and arrives in Tokyo at 9 am local time, then flies back to Jakarta at 12 noon local time and lands at Jakarta airport at 5.34 pm.
Currently Garuda flies from Denpasar to Nagoya three times a week and Osaka five times a week.
The direct flights will offer immigration on-board services so that foreign passengers can obtain a visa-on-arrival permit during the flight.
