Gatwick, Expedia, Chelsea FC and Miss Travel

Gatwick airport has been in the press for leading the way on Twitter. The airport runs its Twitter customer service support 24-hours a day, which includes the #askgatwick campaign. It says that no matter what time of the day or night, if a passenger requires help then Gatwick can respond – big promises, let’s hope they stick to it

Chelsea broke Barcelona’s hearts in the Champions League clash at the Nou Camp on Tuesday night and Twitter users broke the world record for the number of tweets published per second while watching it – courtesy of the Daily Mail, twitter reported that tweets during the game peaked at a staggering 13,684 messages per second.

The Wall published a great infographic on how social media is taking over the news industry. No surprise that a lot of us hear about a major breaking news story via social media but anyone think it would be this high?

And finally, we present MissTravel – a dating website for travellers. Too bizarre not to have a look, our favourite is the ‘attractive people fly for free’ section – we will be monitoring to check which clients sign up…
