GBTA snags a Bush
The former First Ladies are out in force this summer, as Laura Bush joins Hillary Clinton as keynote speaker at a travel industry event.
Laura Bush will be the guest speaker at the Global Business Travel Association Convention 2013, being held August 4-7, 2013, in San Diego.
Mrs. Bush will speak at the Tuesday, August 6th, General Session luncheon.
She follows Mrs. Clinton, the former Secretary of State, in accepting an invitation to join the travel industry speaking circuit. Mrs. Clinton will be the keynote speaker at the American Society of Travel Agents Global Convention in Miami in September.
GBTA executive director and COO Michael W. McCormick noted that Mrs. Bush has traveled to 50 states and 76 countries as an advocate for education, healthcare, and human rights.
A former teacher, she continues to work in global healthcare, empowering women in emerging democracies, education reform, and supporting the men and women who have served in America’s military. She also chairs the Woman’s Initiative at the George W. Bush Institute.
The GBTA Convention attracts nearly 7,000 attendees.
