German airport strikes lead to hundreds of flight cancellations
The winter of discontent continued for German air travelers with more airport strikes affecting thousands of passengers today.
Workers went on strike again, impacting flights at Bremen, Hamburg, and Berlin.
The airport strikes escalate action by the Verdi trade union in their pay dispute.
Hamburg and Bremen airports said they would likely not be operating any outbound flights today.
About 200 flights are cancelled at Berlin.
Airport association the ADV estimates 45,000 air travelers are impacted.
Airport workers are seeking a 10.5% pay raise.
