German specialist marks fall of Berlin Wall anniversary
An early booking discount of five per cent is being provided by specialist operator to Germany Dertour to encourage early bookings.
The incentive applies to bookings to Dresden made before January 31 from the new edition of its 116-page 2009 Germany and Beyond brochure.
The operator expects 2009 to be special year for Germany as cities such as Berlin, Leipzig and Dresden celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall with themed events, exhibitions and tours.
The capital will host a street festival by the Brandenburg Gate on November 9 to mark the official anniversary.
Besides the discount, those booking a trip to Dresden before the end of next month will receive a free City Card giving two days free public transport and entrance to many of the city’s most renowned museums.
Another highlight in 2009 will be the open air Bregenz Festival where performances of Verdi’s Aida take place on a floating stage on Lake Constance – as featured in the new James Bond film ‘Quantum of Solace’ – during July and August.
Managing director Mike Adams said: “After nearly 50 years of trading in the UK, our 2009 brochure offers the broadest and most diverse range of holidays to Germany yet.
“We have expanded our range of active holidays which include hiking, biking and boating breaks, and added new spa destinations.
“As well as offering more choice, we hope to help our customers in these difficult times with our fantastic early booker discounts.â€
