GetThere expands customer service for new and existing clients

GT087 21 January 2004 New appointment to drive adoption, customer service, and strategic partnerships throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa GetThere, the leading provider of corporate online travel reservation systems, has announced a senior European appointment. GetThere has appointed Brannon Winn director of account management and strategic partnerships in the EMEA region, as part of the company’s global support and expansion strategy. Winn is based in France and will focus primarily on servicing the new and existing customer base, as well as driving adoption and expanding the GetThere offering through strategic partnerships. Floyd Widener, Sabre Travel Network’s vice president corporate EMEA, explained: “We needed a stronger focus on helping customers drive up adoption after implementation. With a local account management team in place, clients can benefit from our experience in driving adoption of online booking processes, creating further cost savings and efficiencies.” Winn has held numerous roles across Sabre Holdings throughout his six year tenure, most notably as managing consultant for Sabre Consulting, sales director for Sabre Exclusives North America, and most recently principal of merchant model development for Sabre Travel Network in EMEA. The appointment follows that of Richard Adams, former GetThere European general manager, as leader of Sabre Travel Network for EMEA in October 2003. Widener’s role was also recently created.
