Goa seaplane service on track for October start
Goa Tourism Development Corporation says it is on track to start tourist seaplane services in October.
The agency said permission from the ports authority and civil aviation officials are expected any day.
Passengers will be ferried to a floating platform by boat where they will embark the seaplane.
"Along with seaplanes the state should also have marinas and water buses," said Nitin Gadkari, the union minister for road transport and shipping, adding that the Goa seaplane service will act as a trial for other similar services elsewhere in India.
The service will be operated by Mumbai-based Maritime Energy Heli Air Services (MEHAIR), which has already signed a MOU with the tourism authority.
Trial non-revenue test flights were carried out earlier this year by MEHAIR in Goa.
