Goodman is back with launch of new venture
Industry stalwart Harry Goodman and Holiday Autos founder Clive Jacobs have acquired the retail cruise division of Page & Moy for an undisclosed sum after forming a new company, Totally Travel.
The business will target “business opportunities in the leisure travel sector” and, in addition to the acquisition, will launch a new tour operation later this year targeting the cruise market.
Goodman will be executive chairman of Totally with Jacobs taking a non-executive role on the board. Former First Choice executive Kevin Ivie has been recruited as managing director.
“There are a very large number of wonderful cruises around the world that are not made available to the UK market,” said Ivie. “We intend to package these with lots of other destination attractions to create a whole new product range.”
Page & Moy’s retail cruise division trades as 1st4cruising.com. The deal also includes the brand and website Go-NowTravel.com.
Speaking of the acquisition, Goodman said: “1st4cruising is an excellent business with high quality, expert staff who really know the business of cruising. It is undoubtedly one of the fastest growth areas in leisure travel and 1st4cruising is already one of the top five retailers.”
Jacobs added: “With the acquisition we intend to build a significant player in the cruise sector over the coming months and Totally will become a very strong base for future developments.”
