Google says spend as much time on your web sites as your brochures
Google’s Claire Hatton told ATEC Meeting Place delegates last week that they should spend as much time on their websites as their brochures, with web sites comparatively being neglected and lacking updates and not being used as an up to the minute marketing and sales tool.
She said, “Your website is probably the first contact your customers have with you, yet you spend much more time on your brochures.â€
She also said, “Stick to the basics by providing great content, make it easy to navigate, with details of what’s in the site on every page, because the Home page may not be the first page the visotrs lands on.â€
Claire also urged businesses to offer on line bookings with secure payment methods, along with maps, video and social networking, adding, “The internet is the new ticket office, the new travel magazine, the new guidebook and even the new word of mouth.â€
