Grand Hyatt New York appoints new director of events
Hyatt has announced the appointment of Christopher Vernicek as director of events at its flagship Grand Hyatt New York property.
Vernicek has been at Hyatt for 22 years and makes the step up from his previous role as associate director of events at the hotel.
Previous positions at Hyatt include two separate stints at Hyatt Regency Greenwich in a number of food and beverage positions and latterly as director of catering & convention services before moving to Grand Hyatt New York.
In addition he also served as director of catering & convention services at Hyatt Regency Lake Las Vegas Resort.
Vernicek is a winner of Hyatt Hotels & Resorts Catering & Convention Services Director of the Year Award in 2000 and was again nominated for the award in 2007.
Grand Hyatt New York features more than 60,000 square feet of event space comprising 50 separate meeting rooms, boardrooms and grand ballrooms, with capacity for groups of up to 1,500 people.
