GraysOnline poised to launch hotel deals
Gary Berman, founder of bargaining website, Ubid4rooms.com, will see the portal emerge this month in a new model under the reins of Australia’s largest online auction house, GraysOnline.
GraysOnline purchased Ubid4rooms.com in April marking Grays’ first major foray into the accommodation market.
GraysOnline said it expected a big increase in the number and range of properties prepared to receive offers from prospective guests linked to GraysOnline’s "huge customer base".
Berman, who will head up GraysOnline’s new hotel division said,
"From the early days when just a handful of hotels were willing to bargain with customers to fill rooms on our site, Ubid4rooms.com ended up with more than 1200 properties keen to negotiate with customers on rates and under GraysOnline that number will increase markedly.
"The domestic tourism industry is hurting and therefore seeking innovative new ways to boost business, while consumers are demanding better deals, makes our one-on-one bargaining concept ripe for growth."
