Discover The Web Booking Bargain……………..

This might be the bargain room you booked on the internet……..

This would be the room Greece and Mediterranean say that will guarantee…………………………

Travel agents are under enough siege from principals who are cutting commissions and dealing direct with travellers.

However, a big threat to agents and wholesalers alike is the growing public perception that buying travel through the net represents an automatic bargain.

Many travel agents are lost for words when it comes to convincing their clients that the web can contain traps for the unwary traveller.

Cyberspace is increasingly populated by web sites claiming to offer a range of travel and accommodation bargain, with some perfectly reputable, but some are less so.

Greece and Mediterranean Travel Centre, in common with any reputable wholesaler is committed to offering value and quality for money.

When a travel agents books their clients hotel rooms with GMTC the price is set, the inclusions are spelled out and in most cases specific types and standard of rooms  are reserved for GMTC clients (such as sea views).

Confirmed bookings are guaranteed and in the unlikely event of something going wrong consumers are protected.

Many web sites entice travellers with an attractive lead in price but the sites rarely spell out what is included, in which part of the hotel the rooms are located or any other conditions.

The worst thing about some sites is that if the traveller runs into a problem, such as a room being unavailable there is nobody to come to the traveller’s aide.

In the Greek islands web sites may give you a hotel room but have no capacity to book the traveller a seat on the ferry in and out.

In high season when inter-island ferries are full this can be a disaster.

According to Mondial Assistance which works with travel insurer Sure Save, travel insurance companies make no or little distinction between registered and licensed tour operators and unlicensed operators unless they are insolvent.

Selling the product of licensed wholesalers is not only good for an agent’s bottom line but it gives your clients peace of mind and when comparing like and like the price difference between a web booking and a booking with wholesalers is negligible.
