Greece to lift quarantine for British holidaymakers

Wednesday, 15 Apr, 2021 0

Greece plans to scrap quarantine for travellers from the UK, the EU and four other nations.

The country will reopen to tourism in May and allow quarantine-free access to holidaymakers who have been vaccinated or test negative for Covid.

As well as residents of EU nations, travellers from the US, Serbia, Israel and the UAE will be permitted without quarantine.

They will be allowed entry at the airports of Athens, Thessaloniki, Heraklion, Chania, Rhodes, Kos, Mykonos, Santorini and Corfu, plus two border crossings.

Non-vaccinated holidaymakers must show proof of a negative PCR test carried out 72 hours prior to their arrival.

"We will gradually lift the restrictions at the beginning of next week ahead of the opening on May 14," a tourism ministry official told Reuters.

Under current rules, all foreign arrivals must quarantine for seven days.
