The most innovative online travel information service is being launched today in the shape of AA SmartMap, and it’s available free to all New Zealanders.

AA SmartMap heralds a new era of online mapping and will change the way New Zealanders plan their travel.

AA SmartMap is a rich information source for all New Zealanders, featuring a variety of powerful travel information tools at your fingertips.

“AA SmartMap includes online mapping that is constantly updated, a comprehensive street directory and journey planner, and the most extensive range of facilities and points of interest, including ATM’s, boat ramps, parks, museums and public toilets to name a few,” says Mark Williams, AA’s General Manager of Brand & Marketing.

AA SmartMap is the result of a collaboration between the AA and digital mapping innovator GeoSmart.

“All New Zealanders stand to benefit from this ground-breaking innovation. AA SmartMap is a revolutionary way to organise travel in New Zealand, the technology is unparalleled,” he says.

“With over a million Members, the AA is always looking for ways to assist motorists. AA SmartMap is one of the most exciting services we have ever introduced – this will benefit every motorist in the country,” says Mr Williams.

Phil Allen, Managing Director of GeoSmart, says that AA SmartMap is another example of Kiwi innovation at its best and demonstrates the pedigree in mapping expertise between the organisations.

“It will prove an essential resource for all, whether it be international or domestic travellers or business people on the go,” he says.
