Ajay Sodha of Key Travel and Adam White of Bath Business Travel have been elected onto the executive council of the Guild of Travel Management Companies.

They will take their places on the executive at the GTMC AGM on January 21.

Graham Ramsey of ATP International, Derek Barlow of Travel Alliance and Alan Spence of Fcm Travel were re-elected.

The other members of the executive, not due for re-election at this time, are – chairman, Travel by Appointment’s Maurice Veronique, deputy chairman, Portman’s Michael Hare, treasurer, Travel Focus’s Pat Fauvel, immediate past chairman, Ian Allan Travel’s Paul Allan, Carlson Wagonlit’s Andrew Waller, Richard Boardman of Reed & Mackay Travel and Capita’s Simone Buckley.

Guild chief executive Philip Carlisle said: â€œThe GTMC executive council could be likened to a board of directors for a commercial enterprise and as such it is responsible for the strategic development of the guild.

The coming two years will present a unique set of challenges, both for the guild itself and the business travel sector, and it will be the executive’s responsibility to lead and guide the way forward for the travel management community.

“Ajay Sodha and Adam White both bring extensive industry experience to the executive council and we are delighted to have them on board.”
