Haimark appoints Hans Rood as president
Haimark has announced the appointment of Hans Rood as president, responsible for all small ship cruise brands.
Rood is a cruise industry veteran with more than 25 years’ experience in cruise and travel.
"Hans has served in key executive management positions at KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Royal Caribbean, Cunard/Seabourn, Holland America, Hurtigruten, and FleetPro passenger ship management," said Tom Markwell, managing partner, sales and marketing, for the Haimark ownership team.
"His strong management, travel industry and cruise orientation, coupled with his award-winning development of sales strategies, branding and global sales and marketing efforts, make him uniquely suited."
Fast growing Haimark has a current fleet of nine river and ocean ships which carry up to 210 guests under various brands.
The company will launch another three new ships this year, including the RV Amazon Discovery, which features 22 river view suites and a Rainforest Spa.
It will sail six-night journeys along the Peruvian Amazon from October 2015.
