Hainan Airlines opening new route to Sydney
Hainan Airlines will open a new route to Australia early next year, linking Haikou, Hainan Island with Sydney, news agency Xinhua reports.
Flights begin on January 30 and will operate twice weekly on Airbus A330 jets.
The new service will meet growing demand from both business and leisure travellers.
It becomes the airline’s seventh nonstop route to Australia but the first international route from its Hainan Island base.
It currently links Sydney to Xian and Changsha with direct flights and also flies to Cairns and Melbourne.
