HAL touts single, family size staterooms on ms Koningsdam
In a first for the company, Holland America Line’s newest ship ms Koningsdam will feature family sized staterooms and solo-occupancy accommodation when it debuts in 2016.
Of a total of 1,331 guest accommodations, there will be 32 newly designed family ocean-view staterooms, capable of accommodating up to five people ranging in size from 222 to 231 square feet.
They will also have two bathrooms.
At 127 to 172 square feet in size, the 12 single cabins all have ocean views and will be available on multiple decks.
A cruise is one of the most popular ways to travel as a family, and we continue to welcome more multigenerational groups each year. To help us better serve families, we are pleased to be able to offer these tailored staterooms on ms Koningsdam," said Richard Meadows, executive vice president, sales, marketing and guest programs.
"The new one-person staterooms enable us to serve the growing market of solo travelers," he added.
The ship will have the most staterooms with verandahs in the HAL fleet with a total of 912 in the Verandah to Pinnacle Suite categories.
ms Koningsdam sets sail on its maiden voyage in the Mediterranean in February 2016 and reservations open December 1, 2014.
