Hanrahan swaps Celebrity Cruises for ‘Supercuts’
Daniel Hanrahan, president and CEO of Celebrity Cruises, has resigned.
Hanrahan has told the press that he was ‘head-hunted’ by a firm that ultimately offered him a position as CEO of Regis Corporation, a public company that includes the popular hair salon ‘Supercuts.’
Industry leaders widely consider Hanrahan’s ‘Get Out There’ Campaign and his ‘Solstice Class’ fleet as high points in his seven years with Celebrity. Solstice’s fifth and final vessel, Celebrity Reflection, will be delivered in November, 2012.
"To say I’m leaving Celebrity in good hands is an understatement," said Hanrahan in a public statement.
"From our teams here in Miami and Wichita, to our crew members on Celebrity ships around the world, this is the finest group of professionals I have ever worked with. I know the Celebrity momentum will continue."
Hanrahan had a 13-year career at parent company Royal Caribbean Cruise, Ltd.
Royal Caribbean has not named a successor.
