Haven to invest in new play areas
Haven is to create new outdoor play areas across 25 parks in the UK after research revealed that parents living in cities don’t feel they can let their kids play outside without supervision.
The company said the playgrounds would be dotted around the parks, among the caravans, to create ‘little communities’.
New for 2013 are trails at Lakeland and Seton Sands making it easy to explore the park on foot or by bike. Working with The Wildlife Trusts, Haven also offers a Wildlife Detectives programme which includes nature walks and orienteering.
"We all know that our kids spend too much time in front of the TV and playing computer games," said a spokesman. "However it’s not all down to the kids’ reluctance to put down the Wii, it’s also the parents who are concerned about their children’s safety."
