Haven, Warner and Butlin’s extend closures
Haven has extended the closure of all its holiday parks from April 17 to 14 May and Warner Hotels will also stay shut until mid May.
Sister brand Butlin’s has also extended the closure of all of its sites until the same date, saying that it had done so to remove any uncertainty.
"Our focus has always been to give our guests a fun and entertaining break, so it’s with much sadness that we do this," it said. "We are all facing unprecedented times – every person and every kind of work is affected. We will get through this and back to providing great breaks for you all."
Butlin’s said it has expanded its contact centre team to make it easier for clients to re-book their breaks for a later date. "However, the scale of what we are dealing with is significant and it will mean it may take a little longer than usual, but they are all committed to and focused on helping everyone as quickly as they can," it said.
Haven said that ‘due to the huge volume of guests affected’ it is prioritising contacting clients who had booked to travel from April 17 to April 30 first.
"We would like to thank our guests for their patience whilst we work through this as quickly as we can.
"The situation is being closely monitored and we ask guests to follow our social media channels and our website for latest updates," it said in a statement.
"We would like to apologise to everyone for this disruption and thank our guests, owners and teams for their continued support. We look forward to welcoming our wider Haven family back to enjoy a coastal break."
