Hawaiian Airlines plans to open a technology center in Phoenix early next year.
The airline will establish a temporary office there by the end of the first quarter of 2019 before moving to a permanent base fully staffed by more than 100 employees, it said.
Although the major decision making and IT functions will continue from Honolulu, the new office will provide enhanced IT systems backup and data security.
"This facility will provide us with important advantages as the airline continues to grow,” said John Jacobi, Hawaiian Airlines’ senior vice president of IT.
