Heathrow-bound passengers hit by tube strike
Travellers to Heathrow are being advised to leave extra time for their journeys today due to a strike on London Underground’s Piccadilly Line.
Tube drivers have walked out following a breakdown in talks between the RMT and Aslef unions and management over several issues, including the age of trains.
The strike, which started at 21:00 yesterday, will continue until 21:00 this evening.
It is the first of three planned 24-hour walk-outs. Others will be held on April 19 and 21.
Transport for London advised passengers bound for Heathrow to take Heathrow Connect or the more expensive Heathrow Express train services instead. Extra buses will also be available.
