Hertz appoints new chief
Hertz has appointed John Tague as chief executive.
He replaces interim boss Brian McDonald, a specialist in corporate turnarounds, who stepped in following the departure of Mark Frissora ‘for personal reasons’ in September.
Tague was previously chief operating officer at United Airlines but left after the airline merged with Continental Airlines in 2010.
After that, he worked for logistics company Cardinal Logistics Holdings where he was chief executive.
At Hertz, he will oversee an investigation of the firm’s corporate accounting. According to a report in the Financial Times, the car rental company might have to re-issue the last three years of its financial results because of accounting problems.
