High winds threaten flights in Europe
High winds are threatening flights in Europe at one of the busiest times of the year.
Flight schedules in Amsterdam have been disrupted due to strong winds in the Dutch capital.
KLM advised customers to rebook or view refund options if their flight today was disrupted.
Passengers at London airports were also warned high winds could affect flights.
British Airways advised travellers via Twitter to check their flight status for updates.
The Met Office has issued yellow warnings of high winds in the east of England. Flood warnings have also been issued in Scotland and the North West.
Travellers to the US are preparing for a storm on Christmas Eve bringing strong winds, rain, snow, thunderstorms and fog to the Northeast and Midwest.
Travel disruption is expected on the roads and flight delays from the Great Lakes to the Mid-Atlantic and New England, according to USA Today.
