Hilton to manage Liverpool hotel
Hilton has signed a management deal for a new hotel to open in Liverpool in 2008 – the city’s year as European Capital of Culture
The 216-room property will be part of Liverpool One, a £900 million retail-led regeneration of the city centre.
The hotel is to be be situated on the historic site of the world’s first commercial dock, adjacent to an elevated park overlooking the River Mersey, one of the development’s five individually designed retail and leisure districts.
The property will reflect Hilton’s contemporary ‘new look’ and lifestyle focus already employed at new hotels in London and Manchester. Features will include ten meeting rooms, a ball room, restaurant and a LivingWell Express fitness area.
Hilton UK & Ireland area president Howard Friedman said: “This is Hilton’s first hotel in Liverpool, one of the UK’s fastest growing and dynamic cities.
“The signing of the agreement marks yet another significant step forward for Hilton’s development throughout the UK and Ireland, and we are delighted to be part of Liverpool’s exciting future.”
