Hilton to reflag Singapore’s Mandarin Orchard
Hilton is bringing its flagship brand to Singapore’s retail hotspot Orchard Road.
Hilton Singapore Orchard will open in 2022 after a major renovation and rebrand of the Mandarin Orchard Singapore.
Mandarin Oriental has operated the hotel for nearly 50 years.
After the conversion, Hilton Singapore Orchard will feature 1,080 rooms, new dining and MICE facilities.
During the renovation Mandarin Oriental will continue operating under the management of Meritus Hotels & Resorts, which is part of the hospitality division of hotel owner OUE.
OUE Commercial Reit says it will spend about $90 million to rebrand the property.
The coronavirus crisis ‘presents a timely opportunity for us to carry out extensive renovations’, said Ms Tan Shu Lin, chief executive of OUE Commercial Reit.
"The rebranded hotel is expected to be ready in time to take advantage of the sector’s anticipated recovery."
