Historic low fares bringing Americans down under
Australia is again the most favorable vacation destination for Americans outside of the United States — if cost was not a consideration — re-capturing a spot it has held for 11 of the past 12 years.
"Over the last several months we have seen fares that are as much as 40 percent less than they were a year ago, meaning Americans can now act on their desires to visit Australia" said Michelle Gysbewrts, vice president of the Americas, Tourism Australia.
The news came from a Harris Poll.
"The additional airline routes and partners that have established service to Australia in the past year, including V Australia, Delta and Emirates, provide travelers more affordable travel options.," he added.
Additionally, the strong U.S. dollar has made travel throughout the country increasingly affordable, said pr Newswire.
