A head-in-the-sand approach does not work for any economic sector, country, local community or individual…
History only happens once … against a backdrop of multiple global crises, every day is a brand new day in which we have to take decisions and do the things we feel are right. Global problems impact national economies and personal lives … as individuals we cannot afford to ignore these problems, or fail to see our role in the grand schemes of the global economy and environmental changes. A head-in-the-sand approach to climate change, the financial crisis, global security and the failing MDG poverty-alleviation process does not work for any economic sector, country, local community or individual…
This Special Edition Issue of Vision on Sustainable Tourism is designed to take you through what our global governments, national administrations, corporate business, NGOs and the Academic community are doing to understand the big picture of Global Change today, clarify its contents for individual illumination, identify innovative solutions, and take collaborate actions with willing stakeholders, bound together in the common value system of sustainable tourism development.
There’s talk of a Green Economic Initiative, a Global Green New Deal (GGND), a framework of programmes on Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP), and a Global Sustainable Tourism Partnership (The GSTC).
