HNA Group to launch new digital tourism platform
Chinese airline and tourism conglomerate HNA Group will invest a massive 50 billion yuan ($7.6 billion) to promote tourism and speed up its digital transformation.
Tong Fu, chairman of HNA Technology Group said it will launch a mobile application grouping together HNA’s numerous business units in hospitality, aviation and in the financial sector.
HiApp will serve as a new digital ecosystem for the entire travel journey.
"Based on the assets we own, including airlines and hotels, among others, the app will provide our customers with a one-stop service, where their luggage can be shipped directly from plane to hotel, for example," he said.
The platform will bring together various offline processes while streamlining booking procedures and communication for customers.
HNA Group has a stake in 19 airline subsidiaries with a combined fleet of more than 700 airvcarft.
It also owns ground handling operators, aircraft lessors and has a significant multi-billion dollar stake in Hilton Worldwide.
