Hoax bomb threat disrupts AirAsia India flight
A dozen passengers are under suspicion after a hand written bomb threat was placed on an AirAsia India flight.
It turned out to be a hoax threat although it caused disruption as the plane was led to a remote part of Delhi airport for full screening.
The note said the plane, which departed from Bengaluru, would explode on arrival at Delhi.
"There is a bomb on board. It will blast as soon as it reaches Delhi," the note said.
Police said they were analysing the handwriting of 12 passengers.
"The crew took all necessary precautions and landed at Delhi uneventfully. The aircraft was taken to an isolation bay until cleared by authorities and all guests and crew were deplaned safely," ann airline spokesperson said.
Just over a week ago, an ‘inebriated’ passenger caused havoc on the same Bengaluru-Delhi flight by stripping off and claiming a bomb was onboard.
