Holiday Experts plans to double in size
Home working travel agency Holiday Experts aims to double the size of its business by the end of the year.
The company intends to expand its network of 50 home-workers to 100 on the back of a strong start to 2008.
Managing director Mike Russell said: βFor the first 14 days of the year our turnover was up 67% compared to the same period in 2007.
βIn these two weeks our home-workers generated a total of Β£75,500 in commission, up from Β£45,000 last year, which is just fantastic.β
The average value of a booking for Holiday Experts also increased, up 20% from Β£1,359 in the first two weeks of January 2007 to Β£1,634 in the same period in 2008.
During this period 62% of bookings were for this winter, 32% for summer 2008 and 6% for next winter.
βThe target is for each and every home-worker to make more than Β£20,000 in commission per year,β said Russell.
βOne top-seller made just under Β£5,000 in the first two weeks of January. This is a growing sector and we intend to be a significant part of its expansion through having the very best people onboard.β
Holiday Experts launched 2.5 years ago and is no longer the βnew kidβ in the sector, Russell claimed.
βWe have grown and learned in the past couple of years and now we are here to stake a claim in the home-working sector,β he said.
βWe have ambitious growth plans in place but at the heart of this is the friendly atmosphere which we began with. For us the whole business is about our home-workers being part of the business, not just a number, and for them to make good money.
